How to Stay Fit Like Tom Brady

With football season in full swing, you may wonder how one of the most famous players stays healthy enough to keep playing well into his 40s. The answer may surprise you – Tom Brady’s wellness routine is quite simple, and achievable by everyone.

To stay in top shape, Brady focuses on four main areas: hydration, nutrition, exercise, and sleep. Hydration is critical for all of us.  He makes sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day and sleeps with a humidifier in his bedroom to keep his skin and body hydrated overnight.

Nutrition is another essential part of his wellness routine. He follows a mostly plant-based diet, which has been shown to improve energy levels and reduce inflammation. In addition to eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, Brady also includes healthy fats, like avocados and olive oil, in his diet. In addition, he avoids processed foods and sugar as much as possible, which can help keep his energy levels stable throughout the day.

You might wonder if Tom Brady ever indulges in any unhealthy foods. Occasionally, he does eat pizza – but he makes sure to balance it out with healthy meals the rest of the time.

Exercise is essential for maintaining a healthy body and mind.  In addition to working out with his team with cardio and strength work, Brady also practices yoga and Pilates. These activities help him stay flexible and reduce the risk of injuries.

Sleep is essential for recovery and performance, so he gets at least 8 hours per night. Sleep regulates hormones which control hunger and satiety, and without enough sleep, overconsumption is likely.

No professional athlete could achieve their status without a success map. The following are his success strategies:

  • Set realistic and achievable goals, both on and off the field.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and always look for ways to improve.
  • Develop a supportive circle of friends and family.

Start by setting your goals, mapping out the steps to get there, then start implementing. Take small steps every day. Don’t expect to be perfect but overall, stay committed.

Select a realistic goal, but with a bit of a stretch. “Celebrate” when you reach that goal. Once you reach it, you can set another one. Continue to celebrate each goal attained!

Follow Tom Brady’s lead and set yourself up for a healthy and active life.
