We’re thinking SUMMER at The Connection, a community-based nonprofit organization in Summit, NJ. Our summer camp is committed to providing campers with excellent recreational, educational, and fun experiences while creating a memorable summer in a physically and emotionally safe environment. We are accredited by the ACA (American Camp Association).

The Connection is currently recruiting for 9 great weeks of summer camp employment June 24 – August 23.

Morning camps run 8:30am – l:30pm, Monday – Friday
Afternoon camps run 12:15pm – 4:45pm, Monday – Friday
All day option is 8:30am-4:45pm, Monday – Friday

CounselorCoordinatorAquaticsCIT

Summer Camp Counselor
Come be part of The Connection’s excellent summer camp program! We are currently looking for Summer Camp Counselors to join us.

As a Camp Counselor you will be responsible for leading an assigned group of children enrolled in the summer camp program. You will ensure each camper has a fun experience in a physically and emotionally safe environment.

Hours and Openings

As a camp counselor you can opt to work a half day – mornings or afternoons, or a full day.

Morning camps run 8:30am – l:30pm, Monday – Friday
Afternoon camps run 12:15pm – 4:45pm, Monday – Friday
All day option is 8:30am-4:45pm, Monday – Friday

We currently have openings:

  • Week 1: 6/24-6/28
  • Week 2: 7/01-7/03
  • Week 3: 7/08-7/12
  • Week 4: 7/15-7/19
  • Week 5: 7/22-7/26
  • Week 6: 7/29-8/02
  • Week 7: 8/05-8/09
  • Week 8: 8/12-8/16
  • Week 9: 8/19-8/23
Compensation

STEM for ages 8-12

Experience working with children and STEM experience required

Hours and Openings

6/24-6/28 and 7/08-8/23

12-5pm OR 12-6pm, Monday – Friday

Preschool camps for ages 3-5.

Experience working with children required. Lead teacher experience preferred.

Qualifications
Fashion and Cooking/Baking experience and experience working with children preferred.

Weeks 3-8 (7/8-8/16) with counselor positions available 6/24-7/3 and 8/19-8/23 if interested

Lifeguard

The Connection in Summit is seeking Lifeguards to join our team. In this position you will:

  • Monitor swimming areas and aids and protection to users of the pool and aquatic facility
  • Ensure the safety of patrons of the aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies as a lifeguard.
  • Supervise and guard the pool and aquatic facility and ensures participants adhere to all Connection aquatic guidelines and procedures.
  • Always presents professional appearance and attitude and maintains a high standard of customer service.
Requirements
  • Lifeguard Certification
  • First Aid and CPR certified
  • Must be physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies and administer CPR and First Aide effectively.
Hours

9am – 4pm

Compensation

$16.00 per hour

Counselor In Training (CIT)

The Connection is seeking CIT's (Counselors in Training) for Summer Camp 2024! The role of the CIT is to assist counselors during the camp day and act as a role model for children enrolled in the summer camp program to create a positive and safe environment.
