Youth Gym & Gymnastics

From toddlers through teens, your child can find a place in our comprehensive gymnastics program. Our classes provide a strong foundation for competitive gymnastics, as well as, other sports. In addition to being fun, gymnastics increases both agility and coordination. The Connection offers classes for all ages including parent/child, preschool and school-age for children in our state-of-the-art gymnastics facility. Our gym is also home to the State, Regional, and National Champions, the Summit Summies! Equipment in our facility includes balance beams, uneven bars, vault, spring floor, Tumble Trak and more.

Our gymnastic instructors are USAG professional members and are safety certified.

PARENT/CHILD CLASSES

  • Little Movers | ages 1-2 + parent
    Teacher led, parent assistance required. Join your child in exploring the “big gym”, developing balance and coordination, while having fun with new friends!
  • Kids in Action | ages 2-3 + parent
    Teacher led, parent assistance required. Fun-filled activities, games, songs and more for you and your toddler to enjoy in the big gym.
  • Tiny Tumblers | ages 1.5-3 + parent 
    Teacher led, parent-assisted class offering an introduction to gymnastics utilizing all apparatus. Class also includes brief circle time and fun movement activities.

PRESCHOOL CLASSES

All students must be potty trained and out of pull-ups and diapers to attend preschool classes.

  • Tutu Tumblers | ages 2.5-3
    This drop-off class has the best of both worlds – dance AND gymnastics! Children will practice motor skills while improving strength and flexibility, all while learning basic ballet and gymnastics. The class will include free dance with fun props, across the floor, jumps and leaps, and the use of gymnastics events such as the bars and balance beam. Tumble and move your body! Shoes required: BALLET
  • Gym Antics | ages 3–4
    This is the perfect introduction to gymnastics for the young independent preschooler. Instruction will focus on gross motor skill development through the use of all gymnastic apparatus. Additional activities may include songs, games, obstacle courses, themes, and more.
  • Hot Shots | ages 4-6
    By director recommendation only. Advanced preschool/kindergarten gymnastics class. Focus on strength and flexibility, as well as skill development on all apparatus.
  • Mini Warrior Gym Challenge | ages 3-5 
    Specialized warrior challenge activities for the preschooler to develop strength, agility, balance, and confidence in a FUN-filled environment.
  • Preschool Gymnastics | ages 3–5
    Introduction to gymnastics. Flexibility, strength, balance, and gross motor skills are developed through activities and instruction on all apparatus.
  • Gym Kidz | ages 4.5–6
    Introduction to gymnastics. Flexibility, strength, balance, and gross motor skills are developed through activities and instruction on all apparatus.

SCHOOL-AGE THROUGH TEEN CLASSES

  • Acro-Tumbling I | ages 6+
    Tumbling and acrobatic skill class for beginner students to introduce and develop basic skills. Use of floor exercise mat and tumble track. Great for dancers and cheerleaders. This class will not participate in the dance recital.
  • Acro-Tumbling II| ages 8+
    By director recommendation only. Continuation of skill development beyond the basics for tumbling and acrobatics. This is for students who have developed proficiency in basic tumbling skills and for Dance Team members. Students can choose to participate in the dance recital.
  • Jr. Warrior Gym Challenge |ages 5-7 
    Specialized warrior challenge activities for the preschooler to develop strength, agility, balance, and confidence in a FUN-filled environment. Equipment used will include obstacle courses, rock wall, ropes, cargo net, and more.
  • Warrior Challenge |ages 8+ 
    Due to limited availability of staff, participants will need to demonstrate the ability to follow directions and wait for their turn in order to ensure safety for themselves and others. This coed class will focus on setting goals and improving strength, coordination, balance, agility and confidence through the use of obstacle courses, rock wall, ropes, warped wall, cargo net and more
  • Gym Kidz | ages 4-6
    Introduction to gymnastics. Flexibility, strength, balance, and gross motor skills are developed through activities and skills on all apparatus.
  • Hip Hop Flip Flop | ages 6+
    Children will be introduced to basic hip hop through innovative & creative body movement from head to toe. They also flip flop through some basic cartwheels, rolls, & jumps. Children will stretch, work on their rhythm, & more all while having fun!
  • Jr. Pre-Team | age 5+
    By director recommendation only.Our Jr. Pre Team class is for the young gymnasts who demonstrates ability and interest to spend more time in the gym while developing higher level gymnastics skills. Additional time will be spent on development of strength and flexibility.
  • Pre-Team 
    By director recommendation only.The Pre-Team program meets 2 days per week. This is for young gymnasts who are ready for increased challenges and skill progression in preparation for future placement in one of our team programs.
  • Junior Girls’ Gymnastics | ages 6-8
    Basic gymnastics class that focuses on skill development on all apparatus using progressions. Strength and flexibility training will also be incorporated.
  • Intermediate Girls Gymnastics | ages 7+
    By director recommendation only. Advanced gymnastics class for our Jr Gymnasts that will focus on skill development, strength & flexibility. Recommended skills: ability to focus, desire to learn, pullover on bars, backbend kick over, cartwheel on floor beam.
  • Girls’ Gymnastics | ages 8-10
    Basic gymnastics class that focuses on skill development on all apparatus using progressions. Strength and flexibility training will also be incorporated.
  • Advanced Girls’ Gymnastics | ages 8+
    By director recommendation only.
    Advanced gymnastics class that will focus on skill development, strength and flexibility. Recommended skills: round off, walkovers, cartwheel on low beam, pull over, strong cast, back hip circle on bars.
  • Tween Tumblers | ages 9+
    Beginner to intermediate gymnastics class for girls 9 and up that incorporates all gymnastics events including vault, bars, beam, floor and tumble track. Focus on skill development on each apparatus. Flexibility work and strength will also be incorporated.
  • Club Team (noncompetitive) | ages 8+
    By director recommendation only. An advanced gymnastics class which introduces the concepts related to competitive gymnastics. For participants who are dedicated and show desire to continue skill progression. This program will provide more flexibility in regard to commitment as compared to a competitive team program. Routines will be developed on all four events.

*Note to Parents:
Our instructors will work to the ability of each child. For the best results and most improvement and development, gymnasts should stay in the same class for all four sessions. If a gymnast needs to be moved to a different class based on their abilities, the instructor will notify the parent.
