Class of the Month: Karate for Kids – Adults!

January 30, 2017

Since 1983, Chris Goedecke, karate master, author, Buddhist Monk and Spiritual Guide, has been introducing students, young and old, into the ancient wisdom of the martial arts at The Connection. Sensei Chris Goedecke encourages us all to kick off the new year with karate:

“There is a misassumption that karate is all about fighting and breaking boards. Karate training is so much more. I’ve taught students from age 4-84! You don’t have to be in shape. You’re not going to get hurt. You are going to learn a great many practical ideas about yourself; how to stand with confidence, better control your physical space, how to calm your emotions when under stress, how to manage your breath for more physical power, how to avoid being taken advantage of, and other useful abilities. We build skills and awareness.
Karate is an Asian fitness program par excellence, which is why this art has been around for centuries.

I invite you or your child to try one of our karate classes at The Connection.

Every Thursday:
Kicks for Kids – 4:00-4:30 pm (age 4-6)
Beginner Children’s Karate – 3:30-4:30 pm (age 6-13)
Intermediate Children’s Karate – 4:30-5:30 pm
Advanced Children’s Karate – 5:30-6:30 pm
