Have you been daydreaming about summertime and sunshine? The other Camp Directors and I sure are! We have so much exciting news about Summer Camp 2017 and we can’t wait to share our incredible variety of NEW options. Before I give you the updates I want to tell you how your child can experience a sampling of them prior to registration (February 8th).
You are invited to our Summer Camp Open House – Sunday January 22nd 1:30-3:30pm! At the open house your child will be able to experience some of the traditional favorites of our Summer Camps like swimming, arts, & crafts, dance and sports, while also getting a taste of our exciting new camp options! Some of your child’s favorite camp counselors will even be back to make sure everyone is having a blast! All of the Camp Directors will be present in the lobby to help you chose the best camp option for your child and to answer any questions you may have. We’ll also have a face painter and fun giveaways. If your child is feeling creative, they can enter our “Create Your Own Theme Week” contest where one idea will be selected as one of our actual camp themes!
Camp registration will be open early during our Open House so we encourage you to secure your spot. If you register 2-4 weeks of camp at Open House you will receive a $50 credit toward a future class, or $100 credit for 5-9 weeks PLUS our Early Bird Pricing.
Now, you’re probably wondering what all the “new option” hype is about… I am thrilled to announce these exciting additions to our 2017 camps: we will have brand new Specialty Camps, a new option for our 3-4 year olds, new options in our Gymnastics Camp and Theater Camp, a week 9 of camp, and 3 weeks of travel camp!
This summer our campers will be able to choose from week long afternoon Specialty Camps in: nature, art, fashion, cooking, sports, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). Campers will learn, explore, and create all while enjoying the dynamic environment The Connection Summer Camps offers.
New for 2017, we will be offering a morning or full day camp option for 3 and young 4 year olds. The “Guppies” have a room of their own with activities like swim lessons, art, gym, and STEAM specially designed for their age. They will be able to try new things, develop cause and effect skills and stimulate their curious minds, led by an experienced State Certified Early Childhood Teacher and our nurturing staff.
This summer our afternoon Gymnastics Camp will now include various weeks targeted at specific age/skill levels. In addition to our traditional Girls Gym Camp, we will be adding a few weeks of Elite+ Gym for experienced gymnasts ages 8+ and 3 weeks of our popular Jr. Warrior Gym Camp for boys and girls ages 4-7.
Calling all performers! Campers ages 9 and up who love to sing, dance, and act are also going to love this new part of our afternoon Stars On Stage Camp – Rising Stars. This summer, our older campers will have the opportunity to prepare for our final performance at a more advance level.
Last summer our campers had a blast in our travel camp – because we wanted to give even more campers the opportunity to make memories with us, this summer we will be offering 3 weeks of travel camp under the direction of our beloved Miss Kelly! More information about these day trips will be available at our Open House and online after January 22nd.
An option for an additional week of camp is finally here! We’re so excited to be offering a Week 9 of camp this summer. During this week campers will be able to choose from a full or half day of our classic summertime favorites and several new options. In the mornings we will be offering; SummerFun, Elite+ Gymnastics, and Dance Intensive, and in the afternoons we will be offering; Dance Intensive, Junior Warrior, STEM, and Sports.
With all this hype about the new options…what will remain the same? The safe and lively environment The Connection Summer Camps are rooted in is not going anywhere! Although we make modifications as we grow, you can expect the same foundation for our Summer Fun, Girls Gym, and Theater Camps. SummerFun, our traditional day camp offered in the mornings includes activities such as swim lessons, gym, STEAM, sports, dance, arts & crafts, and outdoor fun. Our afternoon Girls Gym Camp is open to beginner through advanced gymnasts where they will learn and practice their skills in our state of the art facility. Our afternoon Theater Camps include either Stars On Stage (singing, dancing, acting) or Backstage Pass (prop/set/costume creation and design). Both work toward an on stage performance at the end of each 2 week session. In addition we will continue to offer our Sunrisers and Camper Club options for an extended day.
We are so excited about this summer and cannot wait for you and your child to see and experience all we have to offer. We hope to see you at the Open House on Sunday January 22nd to get a taste of Summer Camp 2017. Bring lots of questions, curious kids, and your bathing suit!
