Health Tip of the Month: Eat Raspberries!

Raspberries are a good source of fiber, Vitamins A and C, calcium and iron. They are loaded with antioxidants and have been linked to prevent inflammation, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, allergies, and macular degeneration. Another interesting fact I learned about raspberries is that they have a high concentration of ellagic acid, a phenolic compound that helps stop growth of cancer cells and eliminates the progress of some cancers! They can be eaten raw, dried, or even as a jelly or sauce. Make raspberries a part of your healthy eating habit!

Fitness Tip of the Month: Change up your routine!

Is the program we set you up with getting a little repetitive? That can happen if you do the same workout for too long, which is why we recommend you see us for other workout alternatives.  We start members off on the machines because it helps maintain proper form when going through your everyday workout.  However, as time progresses and you get used to these workouts, form does not seem to become the issue, adherence does.  You may start to get tired of the same old workout and you may lose motivation to keep coming as often as you do, so let us show you a new routine! There are several free weight workouts that any of our trainers can show you in order to make your workout routine more worth-while. Also, do not forget that we have a lot of new equipment here in the Fitness Center that we are very willing to show you how to use. We are here to help, so please take advantage of our expertise!
