Our special needs swim lesson (S.N.S.L.) provides 45 minutes of instruction provided by our trained staff and volunteers. This program is designed to teach and improve each student’s swimming skills while working in a group environment to improve their focus, comfort, and overall understanding of safety in the pool. Volunteers are expected to motivate and facilitate the progression of goals for swimmers while keeping them safe in and around the water. Must be ages 15+ and comfortable in deep and shallow water.
Volunteers will be working with special needs participants ages 3-adult with a variety of disabilities. Must be ages 15+ and comfortable in deep and shallow water. This one hour program provides individuals who are physically or intellectually challenged the opportunity to use the pool for exercise, learn basic swimming skills, be part of a social group, and play games while having fun in a safe aquatic environment. Volunteers are expected to motivate and facilitate the progression of goals for swimmers while keeping them safe in and around the water.
Volunteers needed for all classes – dance, yoga, socializing, & active play time. Ages 14+.
Volunteers will be provided with general information regarding autism, ADHD, and other disabilities affecting children and adolescents. Participants will also learn positive reinforcement techniques and strategies for addressing challenging behaviors to best ensure a positive and safe experience for all.
Tutor newcomers to the U.S. No experience is necessary. Flexible hours, Monday-Thursday; mornings or Monday evenings.
