Workshop participants will move towards personal growth by exploring the body’s relationship to stress and means to alleviate it through movement. Part lecture and part experiential movement, this class will introduce and utilize tools from Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT) a form of mental health therapy that focuses on movement. It is a holistic approach to healing, based on the empirically supported assertion that mind, body, and spirit are inseparable and interconnected. DMT is a licensed masters-level discipline, in which therapists study psychology, neurology, anatomy, and kinesiology. Participants must register by calling the Front Desk 908-273-4242. Naomi Arad-Broome MA BC-DMT LAC is a Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and is the immediate past President of the NJ Chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association. She earned her BA in Psychology with a minor in Dance from Hofstra University and MA from Antioch University New England in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling Psychology. Naomi is the recipient of the 2017 Outstanding Achievement Award from and the 2019 Exceptional Service Award from the American Dance Therapy Association.
