The Connection offers a comprehensive instructional dance program for children and teens featuring a variety of dance styles and levels from beginner to advanced. 

The Connection for Women and Families: Dance

Classes include:

  • Ballet/Jazz grades 2nd – 5th 
    Ballet and jazz techniques taught with choreography. Ballet shoes required. 
  • Ballet/Tap/Jazz ages 5 – 5th grade
    Ballet , tap, and jazz techniques taught with choreography.Tap&Ballet shoes required. 
     
  • Ballet/Jazz/Acro grades 6th & up.  
    Using a combination of Classical Ballet and Jazz technique, this class which is designed for the intermediate/advanced student will employ a warm-up, floor work, barre, center, with the balance of the class devoted to development of the dancer. The last 30 minutes will be devoted to acrobatics which will help develop “stunts” and “tricks”. Ballet shoes required. 
     
  • Hip Hop  grades K – 5th
    Your child will have a blast in this fun filled dance class. They will learn contemporary choreography, improve balance and coordination, and gain strength and muscular control and have a great time dancing!
  • Hip Hop & Flip Flop  grades K – 1st
    This high energy class incorporates hip hop dance moves along with a more traditional tumbling class. Kids have a ball learning fun dance skills set to music, and have the second half of the class to work on their gymnastic skills in the Big Gym.
  • Lights, Camera, Action grades K - 5th
    This performing arts class offers a wide range of non-competitive fine and performing arts activities.  Includes singing, dancing, theater, make-up, and set-design.  At the end of the term is a showcase featuring all that we have learned.
  • Music Theatre grades 6th & up
    Singing, dancing and acting! Explore all elements of a Broadway show.
  • Teen Broadway/Jazz 
    Continue to develop Jazz Technique with the emphasis on coordination, strength, control, and dynamics taught through challenging combinations, including turns, leaps, and progressions. Jazz sneakers suggested. 
  • Teen Hip Hop 
    A class that incorporates jazz technique along with the excitement of street or club moves often seen in music videos. Jazz sneakers suggested 
  • Theater grades K – 1st
    Boost self-confidence and self esteem through theater. We learn from each other through improv, acting games, rehearsing a show and putting it up. Head shots will also be taken.
    grades 2nd – 5th  Love to be a star? Love to act? Come join us as we have tons of fun rehearsing a play, memorizing lines, working with a scene partner and then showcasing your work for all to see. Head shots will also be taken. Come break a leg!

  • Irish Step Dance (grades K-5) 
    Irish Dance offers many benefits including: increased poise and self-confidence, physical fitness, increased memory and concentration, enjoyment of Irish culture, and having a great time. Ballet shoes required.
